upcoming class: 3/30, 4/27, 5/25
Would you like to master your skills with your holster and gun? Do you feel like your shooting was up to par during your previous range session? Can you get your gun out of the holster and place critical hits on your target quickly? Then JnC Defensive Strategies has a “hands on” experience waiting for you.
You’ll learn to draw from your holster in a variety of situations including: defensive situations, tactical reloading and weapon malfunction drills. You’ll also learn to shoot on the move and from multiple positions. In addition, there will be defensive scenarios set up for you to shoot. It is required to bring with you either a strong side hip holster, pocket holster or a holster purse. For safety reasons other holsters are not allowed.
Beginners session: how to draw quickly and smooth from your holster, how to turn and shoot, malfunction drills, barricade shooting, tactical reloading all the basics. You should be familiar with your gun.
Advanced session: defensive scenarios for you to shoot, moving and multiple positions, lots of learning and fun.
We have a beginners session from 8-12 and from 1-5 an advanced session. Please see our class schedule for dates.
Price $60.00 per class or if you take both on the same day it is $100.00

Why you should “still” get a permit
If you plan on purchasing firearms from a licensed gun dealer in AZ a AZ CCW permit exempts you from the required Brady background check at the time of sale. This speeds up the process and makes it easier especially if you have a common name like “John Smith”.
If you want to enter any place that serves alcohol such as your favorite breakfast or burger place with your firearm you need a permit. Even if they serve just beer and wine you can not enter with your firearm unless you have a permit. You still can not drink anything with alcohol or enter the establishment if it is posted.
If you plan to drive, walk, or travel within 1000 foot of any k-12 school you must have a CCW permit unless your firearm is unloaded and in a locked container under federal law 18 USC § 921 Gun Free school Zone Act. The CCW permit still does not allow you to enter the actual school property.
The AZ CCW permit is honored and recognized by many other states (35 at the current time). If you plan to travel to other states your AZ CCW Permit might allow you to carry your firearm.
We offer this 8 hour class and do not cut corners. Many other instructors are cutting corners and just offering a 2 to 3 hour class and leaving out valuable information. As stated above this is not a “shooting” class but does have a small shooting qualification portion but rather this is an educational class covering the laws of carrying, the use of deadly force, mental preparation, and the legal aftermath of being involved in a shooting. We also cover ways to avoid a shooting, where you can and can not carry, ammunition choices, holster selection, and much more.
One of your instructors is a retired deputy sheriff with practical real world situations discussed and what to really expect after being involved in a shooting.
You will walk away from this class armed with the knowledge needed to be prepared for the legal aspects for carrying your concealed firearm.
